You guys. This is one is great and made with Colorado peaches. It’s citrusy and barely sweet but moderately hoppy (48 IBUs) and refreshing like you want your IPA. You can read about the hazy look this beer has here, they call it a “chill haze”. I wish we got these in Oklahoma.
A word on my outfit: Shorteralls! They are genius for beer festivals (so many pockets), they protect you from splashes, and they are pretty asexual. A sweet sales rep in the OKC Madewell store talked me into paring them with the crop top and I’ve worn this outfit 3 times now. I’m so happy that overalls are publicly acceptable right now. I need to get my $115 worth of wear out of them (I didn’t get them when they were on sale dammit).
My overalls are on sale for $80 and are available here.
My crop top is available for $30 here.
Rio Grande Brewing, owned by Sierra Blanca Brewing Company, made a super cool beer infused with green chiles. It is refreshing yet smokey with a little bit of heat at the end. I first had this beer at my favorite bar, Powerhouse, in south OKC. They had used it as a float in a Tomatillo Bloody Mary.
Consider this a novelty beer. Not for every day but something that could pair well with roasted corn, pulled pork, cheese….oooh…a chicken chili. If you paired this with a Tex Mex dish at a dinner party, your guests would flip. Feel free to steal my idea, because I stole it from Powerhouse. Try this beer.

“If you buy one beer from Epic, it has to be Big Bad….uh, something. Big Bad Something,” were the wise words from a coworker when I came back from vacation. Luckily, I did bring home this faaaantastic stout flavored with cocoa nibs and coffee. It’s aged in whiskey barrels and is 11.5% AVB.
Epic Brewing Company is based out of Utah but they opened a cool Tap Room/Brew Pub in Denver. We tried some barrel aged sours but this one stole the show. A ton of coffee. A ton of chocolate. Soon they are releasing Son of a Baptist which is brewed with different regional coffees. The only thing I was disappointed in was myself for not bringing home a few more.
