COOP Ale Works releases its 2015 Territorial Reserve Barley Wine this week. I’m very excited because 1. I helped bottle it (exhausting, freezing, but a total blast) and 2. It’s delicious and boozy.
We will know what the actual ABV will be soon, but for now, the best guess is 13-16%. Whew. (CORRECTION: it has clocked in at 12.2%)
I don’t have a whole lot of experience with barley wine but ours is a little bit sweet with a lot of flavor from its 9 month stint in a bourbon barrel. It is a hop-forward version but as it ages, it will be less so. So far it will be available in Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska and Arkansas.
